2 Bellefonte council members resign
Barry Spicer and Karen Harvey resigned from Bellefonte’s council, the borough staff announced Monday.
Borough Assistant Manager Don Holderman said they resigned due to time constraints related to work and family commitments. Their resignations leave vacancies for seats in the borough’s North and South wards.
Bellefonte residents interested in applying for either vacancy should submit a resume by 4 p.m. April 27 to the borough office at 236 W. Lamb St. Questions about the vacancies should be directed to the borough office at 355-1501.
The last Bellefonte council member to resign was Walt Schneider on June 30, 2014, because he became the agency director for the Centre Region Code Administration, which created a conflict of interest. It took about three months for Schneider’s vacancy to be filled by former council member Brian Walker.
