2019 3-star QB Ta’Quan Roberson commits to Penn State football
Penn State might have its quarterback of the future.
Ta’Quan Roberson — the No. 17 dual-threat quarterback in the country, per 247 Sports — announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions on Thursday afternoon.
Roberson is the second member of Penn State’s 2019 recruiting class, joining State College star Keaton Ellis.
Roberson is a three-star prospect from Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic. The 6-foot, 185-pound recruit received offers from plenty of East Coast programs, including Maryland, North Carolina, Rutgers, Virginia Tech and Boston College.
Penn State offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead took the lead on recruiting Roberson, who’s had a solid junior campaign so far. Through six games this season, the quarterback has accumulated 1,640 yards (1,315 passing, 325 rushing) and 17 touchdowns.
