Popular Costco Item Recalled After 'Serious' Risk of 'Injury or Death' Reported

Some Costco shoppers may want to double check their patio setup before heading outside this summer.

A popular patio swing sold exclusively through Costco is being recalled after multiple reports that the seat unexpectedly detached while consumers were using it, something federal safety officials say could lead to "serious injury or death."

Here's what we know:

The product being recalled

According to a May 14 recall notice issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, about 18,500 Agio Menlo Woven Patio Swings are affected.

The recalled swings, model number 1934256, were sold at Costco stores nationwide and online at Costco.com between February 2026 and March 2026 for between $549 and $649.

Officials say the issue stems from the swing seat potentially detaching from the frame while in use, creating what the agency described as a dangerous fall hazard. So far, the company has received eight reports of the seat detaching from the frame. Those incidents resulted in eight reported injuries, including impact injuries involving consumers' heads and arms.
