5 Weekender questions with The Local Station
State College band The Local Station recently answered five Weekender questions.
Q: How long have you been playing?
A: February 2016-present.
Q: How do you describe your sound?
A: Our original songs are the essence of our musical collaboration. In the writing process we blend elements of ’50s rock ’n’ roll and ’60s singer-songwriter, but it is all through a final lens of modernity. We provide a fresh take on some classic themes and set it to an electric rhythm section. Listeners should be ready to dance to full sets of original music.
Q: Which musician — alive or dead — do you most wish you could share the stage with?
A: How about The Beatles. Don’t make us pick one, though!
Q: What’s your favorite song to play live?
A: A band and fan favorite is “Black Dice.” It’s a high energy dance tune. To counterpoint with one of our ballads, “Just Like Cinnamon” really showcases our piano and vocals.
Q: Where can people hear your music?
A: Check live videos on Facebook.com/thelocalstationband, listen to our catalog of EP releases on thelocalstation.bandcamp.com, or come see us live — dates on Facebook.
