Lana Del Rey concert ‘will feel like the warmth of spring’
Lana Del Rey’s “LA to the Moon” tour is making a stop in Happy Valley.
The 24-date tour features her latest album, “Lust for Life,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
“(Fans) will forget about the cold of winter as this live musical experience will feel like the warmth of spring,” Bernie Punt, director of sales and marketing at the BJC, said in an email. “Her fans already know how talented she is, but if they never have seen her perform live, they will become even bigger fans. It will probably be the best concert they have ever experienced, which is saying something.”
With her 2012 album, “Born to Die,” Del Rey became the third woman to have an album spend at least 300 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart.
“Lana Del Rey has become a hugely adored miserablist thanks to a perpetually wounded voice and plainspoken poetry. Her fourth album as Lana Del Rey luxuriates in warm textures and laconic tempos that recall pre-rock-era pop, her voice given Rick Nelson levels of reverb that adds ruminative weight to even her most basic observations,” writes Maura Johnston, of Rolling Stone.
Punt said the BJC is grateful that promoter Live Nation is bringing the “talented artist” to the venue.
Del Rey will be accompanied by special guest Kali Uchis.
Tickets start at $29.50 ($20 for students) and are on sale online at ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000 and in person at all BJC ticket outlets.
