Centre County best bets: Art exhibits, music, Daniel Tiger visits
This weekend and beyond in Centre County, there are art exhibits to check out, live music to listen to and a famous cuddly tiger to meet.
30th Anniversary Gallery Show
Foxdale Village will mark its 30th anniversary this year, and a new exhibit celebrates the best resident art of the past three decades. A variety of media, including paintings, sculptures and photographs, are on display. The show runs through March 2. Visiting hours are from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays and noon-4 p.m. weekends. Sounds from the Attic: RamaLama
Check out a cappella doo wop group RamaLama at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Attic at The State Theatre. The latest in the “Sounds from the Attic” series will feature fun and interactive experiences and sounds from the 1950s and 1960s. Visit thestatetheatre.org for more information.
‘Still Here’
The contemporary art exhibition “Still Here” will open Tuesday in the HUB-Robeson Center with a reception that’s free and open to the public. “Still Here” explores stories of migration, displacement and survival by eight artists that represent a spectrum of the African Diaspora. Daniel Tiger Meet and Greet
Meet Daniel from PBS Kids’ “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” up close and in person Wednesday at two events hosted by WPSU in Centre County. First, he’ll be at Centre County Library and Historical Museum from 11 a.m.-noon. From 6-7 p.m., he’ll be at Schlow Centre Region Library, where he’ll take pictures with friends from 6-6:25 p.m. followed by a storytime.
