Pumpkins, parades and more: Here are all the October events around Centre County

Fall has arrived, and festivals are in full swing across Centre County.

In addition to Halloween-themed events, some traditional events are returning after a hiatus due to the pandemic, such as the AAUW Used Book Sale. There are also new events to check out, such as a motorcycle cruise-in at the Rowland Theatre.

Ongoing — Calder WalkWay Lighting Experience every Thursday-Saturday from 6-11 p.m. at Calder Way in downtown State College.

Ongoing — Tuesdays on the Terrace every Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at 3 Dots Downtown, 137 E. Beaver Ave., State College.

Oct. 1-9 — Penn State Centre Stage’s “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” at the Playhouse Theatre, University Park. Sensory-friendly performances will be held Oct. 3 and 6.

Oct. 1 — First Friday, from 5-8 p.m. in downtown State College.

Oct. 1-2 — Harvest Fest, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Titan Market, 2042 Axemann Road, Bellefonte.

Oct. 2-3 — Dutch Fall Festival, Aaronsburg.

Oct. 2 — Haunted Bog Trail, from 7-8 p.m. at Black Moshannon State Park, 4216 Beaver Road, Philipsburg. Registration required.

Oct. 3 — Motorcycle-cruise in followed by “On Any Sunday” showing, cruise-in starts at 1 p.m.; movie is at 4 p.m. at the Rowland Theatre, 127 N. Front St., Philipsburg.

Oct. 3 — Outdoor Adventure Expo from noon-5 p.m. at Talleyrand Park and the Bellefonte Waterfront walk.

Oct. 3 — Under the Sycamore with Pure Cane Sugar from 4-6 p.m. at Centre Furnace Mansion, 1001 E. College Ave., State College. Tickets must be purchased in advance at centrehistory.org or by stopping by the Centre Furnace Mansion.

Oct. 3 — Walk in Penn’s Woods: Forest Fungi and Other “Fun” Topics: A Sunday Afternoon in Hartley Wood from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens, The Arboretum at Penn State.

Oct. 3 — Walk in Penn’s Woods: Gravel Point Tree Farm Guided and Self-Guided Walk from 1-2 p.m.; self-guided runs from noon-3 p.m. at 748 Gravel Point Road, Howard.

Oct. 4 — Blessing of the Pets and Animals at 6 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard.

Oct. 8 — Mockstock 2021 from 5-9:30 p.m. at Tussey Mountain, 301 Bear Meadows Road, Boalsburg.

Oct. 9-12 — AAUW State College Used Book Sale from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Snider Agricultural Arena, East Park Avenue, University Park.

Oct. 9 — Happy Valley Latin Festival from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. plaza in downtown State College.

Oct. 9 — Patton Township Children’s Safety Fair from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Target parking lot, 315 Colonnade Blvd., State College.

Oct. 10 — Pumpkin Giveaway from 1-3 p.m. at the H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens in The Arboretum at Penn State. One thousand pumpkins will be given to contestants for the Arboretum Pumpkin Festival. The jack-o’-lantern drop off is 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 15.

Oct. 15-16 — Pumpkin Festival at the H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens in The Arboretum at Penn State. Events are 6-9 p.m. Oct. 15 and 3-9 p.m. Oct. 16.

Oct. 16 — Free Book Fair and Costless Closet from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard.

Oct. 16 — Harvest Craft Festival from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at University Wine Co., 540 Misty Hill Drive, State College.

Oct. 16 Oktoberfest at Grange Park from noon to 9 p.m. in Centre Hall, hosted by the Central PA Tasting Trail.

Oct. 16 — Out Run Hunger 5K at 10 a.m. at Big Spring Spirits, 198 Match Factory Place, Bellefonte. Supports the FaithCentre Food Bank and Pet Food Pantry of Centre County.

Oct. 16 — Punkin’ Chunkin Fall Fest at Bald Eagle State Park, 149 Main Park Road, Howard.

Oct. 26 — Halloween Costume Parade at 7 p.m. starting at Burrowes Road in downtown State College.

Oct. 27 — Light the Night from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Township Park, 816 Nittany Valley Drive, Bellefonte.

Oct. 27 — Trick or Treat Night from 6-8 p.m. at the Penn State All-Sports Museum, University Park. (rain date Oct. 28)

Oct. 29 — Trunk or Treat with DiamondBack from 6-8 p.m. in the DiamondBack parking lot, 354 Enterprise Drive, Philipsburg.
