With the arrival of 2022 comes a range of events across Centre County, starting with First Day Hikes to help you start the new year off in a healthy way.

Ongoing — “Design for Life” exhibit in Art Alley, HUB Gallery, University Park, through Jan. 26.

Jan. 1 — First Day Hikes at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Black Moshannon State Park, 4216 Beaver Road, Philipsburg.

Jan. 12 — LBGTQ+ inclusive drag night with Opulence and Depiro’s Divas from 10 a.m.-midnight at the Basement Nightspot, 112 W. College Ave., State College.

Jan. 14 and 17— Take & Make Day from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at Schlow Centre Region Library, 211 S. Allen St., State College. Stop by the Children’s Desk to pick up a craft kit to do at home.

Jan. 14 — One Night for Change theater performance and fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. at State College Alliance Church, 1221 W. Whitehall Road, State College. Visit www.onenightforchange.com to register.

Jan. 20 — Snowmobile Poker Run from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Black Moshannon State Park, 4216 Beaver Road, Philipsburg.

Jan. 23 — Girl Scout Pine Wood Derby at 9 a.m. at American Legion Smith-Pletcher Post 779, 2928 Penns Valley Pike, Centre Hall.

Jan. 23 — Centre County Historical Society’s Historic Preservation Awards from 3-4 p.m. at Centre LifeLink EMS, 125 Puddintown Road, State College.

Jan. 26 — Calidore String Quartet at 7:30 p.m. at Recital Hall, University Park.

Jan. 29 — Fun in the Snow at Black Mo from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Black Moshannon State Park, 4216 Beaver Road, Philipsburg.

Jan. 30 — The Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra’s “Dance Together” concert at 3 p.m. at Recital Hall, University Park.
