5 Weekender questions with The Perkolators
Clay Hoover, of the State College band The Perkolators, recently answered five Weekender questions.
Q: How long have you been playing?
A: The Perkolators have been playing since late 2012.
Q: How do you describe your sound?
A: Progressive reggae-rock with some influences from jam bands.
Q: Which musician — alive or dead — do you most wish you could share the stage with?
A: Bob Marley, of course. He was bigger than music and it would’ve been an honor to meet him.
Q: What’s your favorite song to play live?
A: We have an original called “Goodfoot” that we often close with that’s a real rocker with lots of quick changes. We also have a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Shakedown Street” that has elements of reggae, funk, pop and jazz. That’s one’s a lot of of fun to play.
Q: Where can people hear your music?
A: Original material can be found on YouTube and ReverbNation. Follow us on Facebook to find out where you can see us live next!
