Where Will Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Their Kids Stay During U.K. Visit?
As Prince Harry prepares to return to the United Kingdom alongside Meghan Markle and their two children for the countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, attention is turning to where the family will stay during their upcoming visit.
"Practical arrangements have been made," a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. "The top of their list would be to stay in Frogmore Cottage, where they used to live."
In 2023, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex vacated Frogmore Cottage - the home gifted to them by the late Queen Elizabeth II - three years after they officially moved into their Montecito, California, mansion in 2020.
Several renovations had been made to Frogmore for the family, including transforming five apartment units to a single residence. Additional renovations also included the replacement of defective wooden ceiling beams and floor joists, updating outdated and inefficient heating systems, electrical rewiring and the installation of new gas and water mains.
The source tells Us ahead of his return, "Harry [also] suggested that Buckingham Palace would possibly be more convenient. Final preparations are underway, but it's not finalized just yet."
Harry, 41, has touched down in England several times since he relocated to the United States in 2020, but it will be the first time back for Markle, 44, and the couple's kids, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, since 2022 due to security concerns. (Harry and Meghan lost their security when they stepped back as senior members of the royal family in 2020.)
In yet another turn of events, Harry lost his security appeal in May 2025, telling BBC that he couldn't "see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point."
Despite Harry's estrangement with his father, King Charles III, the monarch has invited the family of four to stay at a royal residence during their visit.
"After much consideration, [Charles] decided that it would make sense to extend the olive branch at this point in time," an insider exclusively told Us in our July cover story. "He's made it clear that Harry, Meghan and the kids would be welcomed and that their comfort and security are the priority."
"It was a decision made very recently," noted the insider. "It's really less about the property they stay in and more about the environment where they can spend time together comfortably away from the public eye."
Leading up to the U.K. trip, the Sussexes have been enjoying time in Europe with their kids.
