Church finds a new home to make way for interchanges

50 years ago
On Sept. 23, 1967, a dedication for the new Liberty-Curtin elementary school at Blanchard was held. The school opened the day after Labor Day and held a kindergarten, 10 classrooms, an all-purpose room, library and modern kitchen.
25 years ago
In September 1992, owners and managers of student apartment complexes were reconsidering a ban on beer kegs instituted earlier in the semester. Penn State’s Project for Alcohol Consumption Education had proposed the rule in attempt to discourage vandalism and other acts of destruction.
10 years ago
In September 2007, the New Hope United Methodist Church broke ground on its new site on Zion Back Road in Walker Township. The new property was donated by Bob Poole, president and CEO of S&A Homes. The former church building was torn down to make way for interchanges to Interstate 80 and state Route 26.
