50 years ago

On Sept. 28, 1967, areas of Centre County received more than 3 inches worth of rainfall. Bald Eagle Creek overflowed its banks and spread between 3 and 4 feet of water over Route 220 between the borough and the Bald Eagle.

25 years ago

On Sept. 24, 1992, President George Bush’s re-election campaign visited University Park. Following an introduction by Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, Bush made a 20-minute speech outside of Old Main, where a crowd of almost 20,000 people had gathered.

10 years ago

In September 2007, Aaronsburg residents prepared to celebrate their heritage with the 32rd annual Dutch Fall Festival. The festivities included art, history and food.
