A new chocolate shop is coming to Centre County. Here’s where you’ll find it

Business is all about supply and demand — but an address helps too.

Pappy Chuck’s Candy Shop found a home at 125 W. Bishop Street in Bellefonte, where owner Chuck Kormanski hopes to be up and running sometime in April. He chose the location — an old house — because it felt different from the rest of sprawling downtown Bellefonte.

There are other benefits too.

“It was built so long ago there’s a coal chute,” Kormanski said.

Pappy Chuck’s Candy Shop will sell an assortment of vintage candies, Asher’s Chocolates products from Lewistown and the big three of ice cream flavors — chocolate, vanilla and twist.

All of it has been screened for maximum charm.

“A lot of really cool stuff that, like I said, isn’t really around at most places,” Kormanski said.
