To get started, you want to go to your preferred home improvement or local hardware store to acquire the following materials:

  • Two 8-inch ladder mesh blocks
  • Fast-setting concrete mix
  • Brown spray paint

After acquiring all your materials, you want to start by choosing where you want your arch to go.

Once that's decided, you want to dig two holes, each about a foot deep and seven feet apart from each other, as this will be where the two sides of your arches will be.

You then want to place one of the ladder mesh blocks into one of the holes, and the second one in the other before zip-tying them together to stay in place. It should look like an arch at this point. For support and a more natural look, you can also zip-tie sticks and pieces of wood from around your yard on each of the arch's sides.

Then, fill each hole about a third of the way up with water, pour in the fast-setting concrete mix to the top of the hole and let it set. Now the basis of your moon arch is complete.

While you technically have your arch "done" at this point, it may not look exactly how you imagined it yet.

To complete the whimsical look, you want to find even more branches around your yard and zip-tie and wrap them from the base on each side to meet in the middle. For this, you want to find sticks or branches that are bigger on the bottom, long and fan out at the top.

After it looks how you want, you can add outdoor solar string lights, start planting vining crops like ivy or roses, or add other little hanging trinkets, charms or wind chimes along the arch or in the middle.

You can really customize it to whatever your style is or what you want to use the arch for. Whether it's just a simple new addition to your everyday garden, a wedding DIY or a photo moment at a backyard event, this moon arch is not only so dreamy, but also so customizable for whatever your needs are.
