Golden Retriever Has His Dog Girlfriend Over and Immediately Makes It Weird

There's normal dog playdate energy. A little zooming, a little sniffing, maybe some chaotic toy stealing.

And then there's whatever this is.

Because this Golden Retriever doesn't ease into the moment. He sees his "girlfriend," immediately goes all in, and somehow turns a perfectly normal hangout into something that feels… a little too personal for the living room.

TikToker @joey_how_u_doinn shared the clip with the caption, "My dog has his girlfriend over, and I think it's time to have a chat," which honestly feels like the correct parental response here.

The two Golden Retrievers are on the couch, and instead of playing like normal dogs, the boy pup starts going in with these goofy, overly affectionate kisses that feel less like play and more like he forgot anyone else exists.

There's zero self-awareness. None.

At one point, it genuinely feels like he realizes he might be getting watched, pauses for half a second, and then just… keeps going, anyway. Which is bold. Bold behavior.

People in the comments were absolutely losing it.

"They are in so much love," one person wrote.

"In front of your parents is crazy," another added.

"Yeahhhh, it's time for that birds and bees talk," someone else joked.

"He was like, ‘Stop it, my mom is looking,'" one person said.

"Oh, they in love, love," another wrote.

"On the couch??? In front of parents??? Get a room, it's gross," someone added, which… fair.

"That bedroom door stays open," another joked.

"She's such a flirt!" someone else chimed in.

And honestly, the whole thing feels like watching two teenagers who've forgotten where they are. Just fully committed to the moment, completely unconcerned with the audience, and somehow making everyone else slightly uncomfortable in the process.

Why Playdates Are So Good for Dogs

Why Your Pup Needs Playdates!

Dog playdates can be incredibly beneficial for both social and emotional development.

Spending time with other dogs helps improve communication skills, build confidence, and burn off energy in a healthy way. It also gives pups a chance to practice appropriate play behaviors and learn boundaries through interaction.

For social dogs, regular playdates can reduce boredom and prevent unwanted behaviors that result from pent-up energy.

That said, every dog has their own personality and comfort level. Some are more reserved, while others… clearly take the opportunity to express themselves a little more enthusiastically.

And in this case, it seems like this Golden Retriever was very, very happy to have company.
