Netflix Quietly Removing 'Best TV Show' Ever in 1 Month

Netflix continuously generates original content with over 700 new titles coming out every year.

However, even the biggest streaming platform in the country relies on licensed shows from various other networks to provide additional content for customers. One of the most-beloved comedy TV shows of all time, Schitt's Creek is among those produced elsewhere, but managed to find a new home in Netflix.

'Schitt's Creek' Leaving the United Kingdom

For users in the United Kingdom, though, that run is coming to an end.

The Mirror reported a message on the title indicates that the final day to watch all six seasons will be May 15.

Along with the series itself, the documentary Schitt's Creek Best Wishes Warmest Regards, which offered a celebratory glimpse behind the scenes of the show's final season, will also be pulled from the platform.

Creator Dan Levy Raved About Catherine O'Hara's Rewrites

In a recent interview, creator Dan Levy recalled Seth Rogen once telling him that O'Hara would send emails the night before a shoot that said "Gentlemen, some thoughts about the scenes we're shooting tomorrow," and "it would be a full top-to-tail rewrite."

"And as soon as he said it, it was like: I got those emails. The ‘gentleman' - it always started with ‘gentlemen, some thoughts' - and then it was an unbelievable rewrite of the scene. And that is what the amazing, all the great Catherine roles were when she found collaborators that wanted to give her that platform," Levy said.

Fans of the Show Devastated by the Removal

The Manchester Evening News compiled a list of complaints from fans following the news that show was being removed from Netflix in the near future.

Fans continue to urge others to seek out the original run by sharing their enthusiasm for it. As one person posted online: "Best tv show ever, absolutely loved, loved, loved this show. It should never of went off the air. I laughed and laughed and laughed, I miss this show so much.."

Another claimed: "It feels impossible not to love this show." While someone else added: "100% best show of all time."

One person stated: "Schitt's Creek is a must watch! I'm in awe, this is a show I can always turn to to make me smile no matter which episode I watch which is rare to come by. This is a beautiful show about the importance of family - the growth from each of the characters throughout the series is beautiful."

Viewers have until May 15 to binge the show.
