Wine and Cafe on the Park in Bellefonte opened Sept. 24 with the goal of bringing something unique to the area.
Manager Loren Stamm said the building was purchased by the same family who owns Happy Valley Vineyard and Winery in Ferguson Township, and vows to only sell their wines.
“That’s what’s unique — we don’t really have other wines than ones from there,” she said.

Stamm said there are seven acres dedicated to growing grapes for making the wines. All wines are also bottled and labeled at happy Valley Vineyard and Winery, and then delivered to the restaurant, located at 325 W. High St.
“It’s just about keeping it local, too,” she said. “We sell about 20 wines from sweet to premium red wines, and can help you pair wines with your meal.”
The restaurant includes what Stamm said are “light café menu items,” but once a new chef starts at the end of May, new menu items will follow.
“We want to redo the lunch menu and add dinner entrees,” Stamm said. “We’re not sure yet what will be added, but giving the chef free range of creativity.”
Open every day except for Mondays and Tuesdays, the restaurant also offers wine tastings, and sells wine by the bottle.
