The State College Spikes, the St. Louis Cardinal’s short-season single-A minor league affiliate, play home games at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Penn State’s campus.
The team moved to State College for the 2006 season. They will be celebrating their 10th season in State College in 2015.
The Spikes won the New York Penn League championship in 2014, finishing off a season that set new records, as the team matched a club record with 48 wins in the regular season and Rowan Wick smashed the single-season home run record with 14 blasts in just 35 games. The Spikes also broke single-game attendance (6,066 fans) and game length (15 innings and five hours) records on August 30 at the regular season home finale.
