Helping hands: Pregnancy & Parenting Growth Nights offer education, encouragement
At Pregnancy Resource Clinic, we believe you matter! Serving the Centre Region since 1984, we exist to educate, encourage and empower men and women to make informed life choices through offering services related to pregnancy, parenting and sexual health. In addition to providing pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, options education, and STI testing and treatment, we provide pregnancy and parenting education to mothers and fathers, as well as abortion recovery care. PRC is community-funded, so all of our services are free of charge and confidential.
We have made some recent changes to our pregnancy and parenting education services and are excited to now offer Pregnancy & Parenting Growth Nights. We invite expecting and parenting moms and dads who desire to grow in their parenting journey as they grow their family to join us for an evening of education and encouragement. Because of our generous community of donors, we are able to offer child care to children ages 2 and under, as well as dinner to those in attendance. Our guest educators are people from the community who generously give of their time, offering their experience in topics that are relevant to those who are pregnant and/or parenting. Some of the topics we will be covering in the coming months are:
July 18: “Nourishing Motherhood and Beyond” with Rebekah Hilfiger
Aug. 15: “Car Seat Safety” with the State College Police Department
Sept. 19: “Five Tools for Super Sleepers” with Sarah Christian
Oct. 17: “Budgeting” with Dennie Fetzer
Nov. 21: “Stewards of Children Training” with Jamie San Filippo
Dec. 19: “Infant/Toddler Development” with Brook Rozenberg
Where: 647 Valley Vista Drive, State College
When: The third Tuesday of each month, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
RSVP: Visit scprc.com to register
Our pregnancy and parenting education services also include BrightCourse, an evidence-based video program used to train and equip parents through their pregnancy and postpartum journey, the first few years of their child’s life, as well as guidance on basic life skills. The moms and dads enrolled in this program receive points for each lesson completed that can then be used to shop in our Baby Boutique. Our materials assistance includes diapers, wipes, clothing, and other supplies needed for infants and toddlers, through age 2. Another program that will be offered soon is Pop-Up Events geared toward those who are expecting or parenting who could benefit from learning through a more focused, shared experience, about a specific topic, such as potty training, teething tips and tricks, and helpful routines for mom and baby.
If you or someone you know could benefit from our services, call 814-234-7341 or visit scprc.com.
