Healthy relationships: This year’s Chefs on Stage fundraiser will benefit Centre Safe

I’m sure this isn’t news to you, but costs have gone up on everything pretty much everywhere. Have you had sticker shock like me going to the grocery stores, grabbing a few items, and then picking your jaw up off the floor when the total rings up? Now imagine the shock of having to suddenly flee your home with little to no belongings beyond a desire to survive.

That is what so many of our clients face every day — survive. Centre Safe staff work tirelessly to provide critical services to victims/survivors of all ages and identities across Centre County. As more people learn about Centre Safe, services/resources, and the realities of crimes like sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking, we see more and more people needing support, shelter, counseling, legal support, and so much more. The epidemic of these issues isn’t going anywhere. Will you help us make sure Centre Safe can meet the demand and be that safety net for people?

Each year, State College Magazine hosts Chefs On Stage, an amazing fundraiser that benefits a nonprofit organization in the region. Now in its 21st year, Chefs On Stage (Sept. 18 at Toftrees Golf Resort) features delicious food from regional chefs, a live and silent auction, and much more. This year, all the proceeds go directly to support the critical work Centre Safe provides for victims and survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and more.

So how can you help? Consider getting some friends, family, or colleagues to sponsor a table. Each table seats eight. The event is also a major networking opportunity for sponsors/attendees — and helps people see the impact of their generous contribution. To learn more about the event, including sponsorship, please visit www.centresafe.org/chefs-on-stage. In addition to table sponsorship, or in place of sponsorship, people/businesses are welcome to donate items for our silent and live auctions. Whether it be a gift basket or getaway, all items are welcome.

Other ways to financially contribute to Centre Safe

It is very important to me that all who contribute to Centre Safe feel truly valued no matter what amount a person contributes or if that gift is financial. Whether you are giving your time, talent or treasure (any amount), please know you are incredibly cherished by Centre Safe. I would love to get to know more of the people who feel a connection to Centre Safe. Always feel free to reach out to me — I’d love to hear from you! You can call me at 814-238-7066 or e-mail me at jpencek@centresafe.org.

For those interested in contributing to our cause financially, there are three primary ways: annual gifts, planned giving and tribute. Annual gifts provide immediate and vital support for our organization. Planned giving combines charitable giving with responsibility to loved ones and prudent financial planning. A tribute gift to Centre Safe is a meaningful, thoughtful way to acknowledge a special person and help others. I am more than happy to talk with you more about any of these options and how your interests may align with Centre Safe’s mission.

If you are interested in contributing more immediately (including having the option for a recurring donation), simply visit www.centresafe.org, click on get involved, then make a donation.

I know there is such a high demand for your time and even your financial contributions. Know every cent coming into Centre Safe goes directly to support our clients and the critical work we do across Centre County. Thank you for all your support!
