Carnival's Celebration Key can now host four cruise ships at once
Carnival Cruise Line's popular new exclusive cruise destination on Grand Bahama Island is about to get busier.
Less than one year after opening the private port, Carnival completed a pier extension project ahead of schedule, creating space for two additional ships to dock at the destination. With the extension now open, four cruise ships and more than 13,000 passengers can now visit the destination in a single day.
With the original two-berth pier that opened with Celebration Key in July 2025, Carnival will have welcomed about 2.5 million visitors by the port's first anniversary on July 19. The pier extension adds capacity for about 200 more ship calls and 700,000 more visitors per year. As Carnival ramps up cruise ship calls in the coming months, it expects to welcome about 3.5 million visitors to Celebration Key in its second year.
"Finishing the pier extension ahead of schedule gives us a real jump on meeting the extraordinary demand we're seeing and allows us to bring even more guests to this unique Bahamian paradise sooner than expected," said Carnival Corporation CEO Josh Weinstein.

Celebration Key begin four-ship days in September
Three-ship days at Celebration Key will occur a few times this summer and by September 2026, three- and four-ship days will be common at the destination. Currently, 20 Carnival ships sail to Celebration Key from 10 U.S. home ports. Later in 2026, ships from sister cruise lines Princess Cruises and AIDA will begin docking at Celebration Key alongside Carnival ships.
Celebration Key has quickly become a top destination for Carnival cruisers thanks to its beautiful beach setting, gigantic lagoon pools, and lively fusion of Carnival fun and Bahamian culture.

On three- and four-ship days, the destination may feel crowded in popular spots like the Calypso Lagoon and its swim-up and swings bars, but with a mile of beach and five "portals" to explore, there's plenty of space for visitors to spread out and find their kind of paradise.
"Celebration Key is one of the centerpieces of our Paradise Collection – a bold destination built to redefine what a Caribbean vacation can feel like," said Weinstein. "From a mile of white sand beach to the Caribbean's largest freshwater lagoons and five distinct experience portals, every part of Celebration Key was designed to deliver something unforgettable."
Other Paradise Collection ports get upgrades
Celebration Key is one of the seven exclusive destinations across The Bahamas and Caribbean that make up Carnival Corporation's Paradise Collection, and it's not the only one the company is expanding.
Earlier this summer, Carnival unveiled a new resort-style pool area at Isla Tropicale in Roatán, Honduras and a new pier and amenities to enhance the visitor experience at RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay in The Bahamas.

Other Paradise Collection destinations include Princess Cays in The Bahamas, Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic, Grand Turks Cruise Center in Turks & Caicos, and Puerto Maya in Cozumel, Mexico. Together, the seven Paradise Collection destinations will welcome more than eight million visitors in 2026.
The expansion of these destinations supports Carnival's growing lineup of megaships, with two new 5,300-passenger Excel-class ships launching in 2027 and 2028, and three bigger ships to follow between 2029 and 2033. The next-generation of fun ships, Project Ace, is expected to accommodate almost 8,000 passengers at full capacity.
