Night Markets set to return to Hermitage
HERMITAGE - The Hermitage Night Market season is expected to return this summer, bringing with it plenty of food, music and activities.
The Night Markets will be from 5 to 9 p.m. July 9, Aug. 13 and Sept. 17 in front of the Hermitage Police Department and National Guard armory, near the intersection of North Hermitage and Highland roads.
This year's Night Market season will feature more than 60 vendors for each market, including food and beverage vendors, Hermitage Director of Recreation and Community Events Jessica Gotch said.
This will be the city's fifth annual Night Market season, with many vendors returning from previous years.
"Everybody seems to really enjoy it," Gotch said of the Night Markets. "We always have a high return rate for vendors. Every year, we have a waiting list of vendors."
While vendors have responded positively to the Night Markets over the years, local families likewise continue to enthusiastically turn out for each event.
"The markets are always busy. It's very well-attended," Gotch said.
Certain vendors tend to be consistently popular, such as baked goods and fresh produce, although the sheer variety of vendors at each market ensures visitors will find something to enjoy.
"People love to bring their families out, and there's such a large variety of vendors that people can browse through," Gotch said.
Aside from the various vendors on display, each Night Market will feature a children's tent with activities sponsored by a local nonprofit organization.
There will also be live musical entertainment at each event, including:
• Jane Gregg and Max Schang on July 9
• Campbell and Scott on Aug. 13
• Ruby Mountain Music on Sept. 17
