Identity of second man shot at Lancaster Central Park on June 24 announced by coroner's office
The identity of the second man who was shot Wednesday evening at Lancaster County Central Park was revealed Friday evening by the Lancaster County Coroner's Office.
Police responded to the Lancaster City section of Rockford Road the park around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and found two gunshot victims. One man, 47-year-old Kevin Lucas of Lititz, was dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to the neck.
The second man was transported to Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital. On Friday, the county coroner's office was called to the hospital where 32-year-old Brandon Cunningham of East Hempfield Township was pronounced dead.
The coroner's office said the cause of Cunningham's death as a gunshot wound to the head and was ruled a suicide.
Lancaster city police said the shooting was under investigation and there was no reason to believe there was a threat to the public. They said more details would be made public later.
Lancaster city police said Friday there were no updates on the investigation, which they said is ongoing.
