Mirinda Boob loses another appeal in shooting death of husband

Mirinda Boob has lost yet another appeal of her 2011 murder conviction.

Boob was found guilty in the 2009 death of her husband, Samuel Boob. Prosecutors said she lured him into the garage, where an accomplice, Ronald Heichel, shot him twice.

Centre County Judge Pamela Ruest this week denied Boob’s petition for a post-conviction relief act appeal. She was seeking a new trial in the case, arguing she had had ineffective counsel.

Boob had previously appealed her conviction to the Superior Court, which denied her request in 2012.

She is serving a sentence of life in prison. Heichel was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder, and is serving a life sentence and a consecutive 20-year sentence.
