Centre County prisoner found guilty in assault

Christopher Hecker, 45, of Norristown, was found guilty of aggravated assault and simple assault Monday following a half-day jury trial.

Centre County President Judge Thomas King Kistler also found Hecker guilty of a summary charge of harassment.

Hecker was a resident in the restricted housing level of Centre County Correctional Facility in January. Prosecutors said he lured a corrections officer to his cell by requesting a cup of water, then shot his arm through the door slot, punching the guard in the inner thigh.

Hecker was found guilty in April of eleven felony counts of terroristic threats, eleven misdemeanor threats of harassment and a stalking charge for incidents involving his ex-wife and her coworkers. In August, he was found guilty of an aggravated harassment felony for spitting on corrections officers.

Sentencing will take place in December. He was previously sentenced to 11 1/2 to 23 years, 11 1/2 months in state prison for the April conviction.
