Woman charged with assault may go to trial

A preliminary hearing was held Wednesday morning for a State College woman accused of assault.

Priyanka Saxena, 23, was charged with simple assault after an incident on October 3, 2015.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, prepared by State College police Officer Nicole Foley,

Saxena kicked the victim, a a resident of The Retreat apartment complex, in the head. Saxena was wearing four-inch wooden heels at the time, police said.

The woman received medical attention for a bite wound and a concussion she alleges she suffered during the altercation.

The charges, misdemeanor simple assault, and summary harassment were bound over for trial.
