Police investigate Moshannon Valley company for theft
A Clearfield County lumber company is being investigated by state police at Clearfield after failing to deliver more than $182,000 worth of wood to a New Jersey business.
Police said New Jersey-based company Let It Grow Inc. ordered $182,875 worth of lumber on May 1 from Dead Wood Lumber Co., of Wallaceton.
Trooper Kevin Doverspike said administration from Let It Grow wrote a check for $45,000 as a down payment.
Dead Wood Lumber Co. reportedly cashed the check, but never delivered the product.
