Man allegedly assaulted woman after ROTC ball

A Dover man has been charged with indecent assault after a woman reported to police that he sexually assaulted her in April.

Corey Scott Kohler, 21, attended a ROTC ball on April 2. According to an affidavit, Kohler walked her to her residence along Bellaire Avenue in State College, after the ball was over. Per court documents, the woman agreed to allow Kohler to sleep on her bedroom floor.

The woman told police that she went to sleep but woke up with Kohler fondling her in her bed. She also told police that she did not give Kohler permission to get in the bed with her or touch her. She fell asleep again, but woke up a short time later and “locked herself in her bathroom” until Kohler left, according to court documents.

Kohler was charged with two misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and harassment.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 8.
