The 55th annual American Association of University Women State College Used Book Sale is slated to begin Saturday at the Penn State Snider Ag Arena.

The sale is one of the largest used book sales on the East Coast, according to an AAUW news release, featuring more than 250,000 books. This year’s selection will be sorted into 30 categories across 250 tables.

The sale supports the AAUW mission to “advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research,” the release said. Scholarships and community grants are awarded through sale proceeds, and funds are directed to local STEM programs for girls and research at AAUW national.

The sale runs 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily Saturday through Tuesday. Shoppers are asked to bring their own bags and only cash or checks will be accepted.
