You’ll have to wait longer to get Raising Cane’s in State College. Their opening was delayed

Those hoping to get a taste of Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers for the first time in Happy Valley will have to wait a couple months longer than expected.

The company’s downtown State College location, 228 E. College Ave., is scheduled to open in late June, a company spokesperson wrote in an email Monday. Cane’s had expected to open in April.

The Louisiana-based chain did not say why the restaurant’s opening was delayed. It would be one of the first Cane’s to open in Pennsylvania.

Plans for the location have been in the works for nearly a year. The business planned to spend about $1.6 million to renovate the 3,967-square-foot space on the first floor of the building. It was once home to Anthym and the The Maxxen’s leasing office.

The business planned to hire about 100 people.
