A downtown State College cafe closed after nearly two years in business

A downtown State College cafe owned by a Penn State alumna closed Tuesday after nearly two years in business.

Crust & Crumb Cafe closed, owner Amber Winkler wrote in social media posts Tuesday, and is for sale. The business opened at 115 E. Beaver Ave. in fall 2020.

The quaint, artisan-style cafe specialized in fresh pastries, deli sandwiches and signature coffees.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of the guests that frequented our establishment over the past 2 years and supported us through a difficult pandemic,” Winkler wrote. “... Our time here has been short, but in some way, we hope we were able to bring something special to the community.”
