Fans of Chick-fil-A got the news they’ve been waiting for on Monday.

The Patton Township restaurant wrote on Facebook that it will reopen Thursday, Oct. 20, after four months of renovations.

A post Monday evening alluded to a reopening in three days and a comment from the restaurant specified it would be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Chick-fil-A at Happy Valley closed in mid-June for renovations that included adding a second drive-thru, expanding the kitchen and modernizing the facility.

At the time, the company told the CDT: “We look forward to making these improvements and continuing to serve the State College community once construction is complete.”

Officials previously estimated the drive-thru will be able to handle three times as many cars as it did before renovations. The popular restaurant often saw congestion, with traffic spilling onto North Atherton Street.
