The former Centre Daily Times office at 3400 E. College Ave. in College Township reopened Tuesday as the new home of Stuckey Mitsubishi.

Duncansville-based Stuckey Automotive purchased the 40,000-square-foot building from the CDT in the summer of 2021. Work began in March 2022 to repurpose the building. “When we first toured the building, we could visualize a layout that bears a striking resemblance to what stands today,” Stuckey Automotive President Matt Stuckey said in a release. “We knew we were home.”

The Mitsubishi dealership, formerly located at 150 Shiloh Road, will now be known as the Stuckey Mitsubishi Super Centre. The building is the group’s Centre County hub and includes a large showroom, conference rooms employee areas, a state-of-the-art service center and on-site car wash.

“I’m most proud of our team and the hundreds of talented men and women who accepted the magnitude of this project, knowing full well the highs and lows. In many ways, this building signifies our commitment to Centre County,” Stuckey said. “We wanted the name of our dealership to evoke that same feeling of fortitude and staying power and so we thought it opportune to rename the dealership the Stuckey Mitsubishi Super Centre.”

Stuckey Mitsubishi employs 20 full-time sales and service workers and expects that number to grow in the new facility.

The service center is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, while the sales center is open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday.

CDT news staff are now members of the SpringBoard coworking space in Bellefonte.
