‘Difficult decision’: Downtown State College restaurant to close in mid-May

The downtown State College business scene is in for another shakeup.

Hello Bistro “has made the difficult decision” to shut its local location later this month, a company spokesperson confirmed Tuesday.

The restaurant will permanently close at 4 p.m. May 14, Hello Bistro’s Courtney Caprara said in an emailed statement.

Hello Bistro opened in October 2019 at 126 W. College Ave. in the former home of Ye Olde College Diner. Its regular hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The fast casual chain, part of the Eat’n Park Hospitality Group, is known for its salads and burgers and will continue to operate its locations in the Pittsburgh area.

“We are grateful to our team members, who have gone above and beyond to share salads, burgers, and good vibes with Penn Staters and the State College community over the last several years,” Caprara said.
