‘We are thrilled.’ Familiar hotel chain makes its return to State College area
A familiar hotel chain made its return Wednesday to the Centre County market.
Days Inn by Wyndham State College operates at 1274 N. Atherton St. after being converted from a Quality Inn, Hospitality Asset Management Co. wrote in a statement.
The transition is set to bring a handful of enhancements, including refreshed guest rooms and an updated lobby. Complimentary breakfast and free Wi-Fi are among the services the hotel offers.
“We are thrilled to unveil the new Days Inn by Wyndham State College,” HAMCO Chief Operating Officer Edward Tubbs said in a statement. “By joining the Wyndham family, we are poised to deliver unparalleled guest satisfaction, uphold the highest standards of quality, and provide exceptional value for our guests’ stay in State College as they had been accustomed to at our downtown Days Inn location for decades.”
The State College market has been without a Days Inn for more than a year. The business last operated at 240 S. Pugh St., buildings that were demolished to make room for a new six-story, 172-unit apartment building.
Mad Mex and Brewsky’s Bottle Shop were also demolished. Developers of the project expected construction to be completed by June 2024.
