Two new restaurants are coming to Westerly Parkway Plaza in State College
The space formerly occupied by My My Chicken in the Westerly Parkway Plaza will soon be home to two new restaurants.
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill and Mr. Sticky’s have both signed leases and plan to open in the fall, Kandy Weader with Bennett Williams Commercial confirmed in an email Wednesday.
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is a fast casual Mediterranean restaurant with locations across the country. This would be the first in Pennsylvania.
Menu offerings include tzatziki, hummus, gyros, burgers, souvlaki, falafel and baklava.
Restaurant News wrote earlier this year that the chain has established “a robust development pipeline” with plans to open almost 300 locations in the next few years, including more than 20 this year alone.
The first Great Greek Mediterranean Grill was opened by a Greek-Armenian family in Nevada serving traditional dishes made with family recipes. Partners Nick Della Penna and Trent Jones took over the restaurant and have turned it into a franchise, but the recipes have remained the same, according to an online history of the company.
Mr. Sticky’s is well-known by campers at the Centre County Grange Fair — where the company started out — for its sticky buns. The company also operates a restaurant in Williamsport and a bakery in Lancaster.
There are franchises in Pottstown, Harleysville and Greenville, North Carolina. The menu includes the regular sticky bun, walnut sticky bun and cinnamon bun with peanut butter or cream cheese icing. The Williamsport location also offers sandwiches, soups and salads.
The two businesses will take over the space formerly occupied by My My Chicken, which closed in 2020.
