The deadline to submit nominations is Sept. 5, and the winners will be announced during a reception at the Nittany Lion Inn on Oct. 23. Public registration for the reception will open in August, with sponsorship opportunities available on the CBICC website.
All nominees must be CBICC members, with the exception of the Emerging Business of the Year category. Awards will be given for the following six categories:
ATHENA Championship Leadership Award: Recognizes individuals who serve as allies, advocates and catalysts in promoting women’s leadership. Spotlights those who pioneer innovative strategies to foster diversity while providing support to underrepresented employees in the workplace.
Nonprofit of the Year: Recognizes a nonprofit that has made a significant impact on the community through its programs, services and dedication to its mission.
Small Business of the Year: Recognizes a business with 10 or fewer full-time employees that has demonstrated customer loyalty, a dedicated and engaged team and visionary leadership committed to sustainable growth and future success.
Emerging Business of the Year: Recognizes a business that was established or opened within the past three years and has achieved significant early success, demonstrated strong growth potential and is a promising leader and innovator in its industry.
Business Leader of the Year: Recognizes an individual who has guided their organization to success, enhancing its reputation through operational excellence, innovative programs and a strong commitment to employee and community engagement.
Business of the Year: Recognizes an outstanding business that aligns with CBICC’s mission to promote community well-being and economic development in Centre County.
“The Centre County Business Awards are a celebration of the people and organizations that drive our region forward,” CBICC president and CEO Greg Scott said in a release. “We encourage the community to nominate those whose leadership, dedication and entrepreneurial spirit make this a great place to live and work.”
