An industrial Bellefonte-area venue is preparing to start a new chapter after ending a partnership with its core restaurant.

Alloy Kitchen’s time at Titan Hollow has abruptly come to a close, the venue said on Wednesday. The restaurant’s departure arrives after a prolonged period in which both parties attempted to work through ongoing disagreements over operations and business needs, according to Angela Eliasz, co-owner and co-creator of Titan Hollow.

Eliasz called the split with Alloy Kitchen a mutual but difficult decision.

“That is a decision that neither Alloy [Kitchen] nor Titan Hollow took lightly,” Eliasz told the Centre Daily Times. “We’ve been trying to figure out the best path forward for both businesses and both of our staff. I think it’s just a new chapter.”

Eliasz did not specify the exact nature of Titan Hollow and Alloy Kitchen’s unmet business needs and differences of opinion regarding management styles. She said both parties spent the last few months expressing those interests but found they were not “getting closer to what either of us needed.”

Alloy Kitchen chef and owner Tony Caracillo did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Centre Daily Times on Wednesday. The restaurant’s Facebook and Instagram pages have already been scrubbed clean of all posts, though its page on Titan Hollow’s website remains online.

Alloy Kitchen’s launch at Titan Hollow originated during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when restrictions on social spaces were in effect and alcohol could not be sold without food on the menu. Eliasz, a former Hollywood visual effects artist, fondly recalled designing the venue’s interior and collaborating with Alloy Kitchen’s former owner to craft a menu that would complement Titan Hollow’s ciders and craft cocktails.

Eliasz expressed sadness in ending the partnership with Alloy Kitchen but noted she’s excited to see what’s next for Titan Hollow.

“We have invested too much in Bellefonte, in our businesses and in our beloved staff, and we just need to figure out something that works,” Eliasz said. “Our hearts are breaking for change, but sometimes change is what’s needed to spur on something new.”

In social media posts announcing the closure, Titan Hollow promised “the cider, the cocktails and the spirit that’s made Titan Hollow feel like home since day one” will not change following Alloy Kitchen’s departure. The venue expects to bring in a rotating lineup of food trucks in the restaurant space and caterers in the larger event space to continue feeding guests “as soon as we can schedule them,” though some are already expressing interest, Eliasz said.

Mad McIntosh Cider, Witches’ Hollow Winery and Titan Events will continue operating following Alloy Kitchen’s departure from Titan Hollow, located at 2042 Axemann Road in Bellefonte.

Alloy Kitchen offered wide-ranging menu featuring award-winning macaroni and cheese, sandwiches, chicken wings, fried fish platters and more, plus brunch specialties on weekends.

The restaurant was particularly favored among those with dietary restrictions, as a large chunk of its appetizers, salads, entrées and desserts could be made gluten-friendly, vegetarian or vegan. Gluten-friendly french fries and sandwich rolls were available for an additional charge.

Alloy Kitchen began a new chapter in 2025 when restaurant founder Lori Sabatino turned over the reins to Caracillo, a State College native and State College Area High School graduate. He began working as a server and bartender for Titan Hollow in 2023 before purchasing the restaurant.

Shortly after taking over Alloy Kitchen in early 2025, Caracillo expressed interest in opening a second location for the restaurant or launching a mobile food truck concept. It’s not yet clear if Alloy Kitchen is expected to continue operating elsewhere, though Eliasz said the restaurant’s team would be free to continue the brand elsewhere.
