Michael Dainty was hired as the executive chef at The Governor’s Pub in Bellefonte.

He returned home to Centre County following experience as executive banquet chef for the Aspen Meadows Resort in Aspen and executive sous chef at Wort Hotel in Wyoming. Dainty graduated from Le Cordon Blue culinary school and interned for Celebrity Chef Todd English at the Bluezoo located in Walt Disney World’s Swan and Dolphin Resort.

The Centre Area Transportation Authority appointed Wendy Pardee as the Patton Township representative to its board of directors.

Pardee is the CEO for Skills of Central PA, a multi-county provider of intellectual disability and behavioral health services. She also served as chief financial officer for the Community Guidance Center, a behavioral healthcare provider in Indiana, Pa. She will be eligible for appointment to a five-year term in January 2016.

The medical staff of Mount Nittany Medical Center presented the sixth annual Patient C.A.R.E. Awards and the Allied Health Professional Excellence Award to non-physician staff members.

MNMC stroke coordinator Susan Maynard was honored in the clinical category, administrative director of cardiology services Charlene Diehl in administration, director of quality Courtney Sneath in research and application specialist David Braucht in education.

The Allied Health Professional Excellence Award honored Lorella Thomas of Geisinger.
