Reporters like to be the first to a story, but far too many jump the gun without investigating.

Other media outlets recently reported that Sky Zone is “coming soon” to State College based off the company’s corporate website. Sky Zone, however, has had that exact promotion up for years.

What are they waiting for?

Company sources have said since early 2015 that it would be premature to assume State College will get a Sky Zone soon and declined comment Tuesday.

There are a lot of other businesses that were supposed to come to State College. If you’ve lived in the area long enough, you know who they are.

Buffalo Wild Wings won’t respond to inquiries, but the company has tried to work out a deal in State College for years. They only recently submitted land development plans at the intersection of Blue Course Drive and North Atherton Street.

Costco has long been rumored to come to State College. The company won’t confirm its interest but won’t deny it either.

The trustworthy rumor mill claims that Boscov’s has been negotiating with Hills Plaza and Nittany Mall for years. The company has consistently denied those rumors.

A Sky Zone could happen someday, but if you want to jump for joy in one soon, the shortest drive you’ll have is to Harrisburg.

You could also buy your own trampoline.

Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly said that Buffalo Wild Wings did not have a location in the State College area yet.
