Shaner Companies promoted Christy Miller to vice president of tax.
A graduate of Penn State, her experience includes serving as staff accountant for AccuWeather and QBC Diagnostics and senior accountant at Richey, Cox, Hollis, Mock & Klein. Miller joined Shaner in 2010 as manager of tax and finance. She oversees the preparation of all income and sales tax filings.
The Centre Area Transportation Authority named Liz Pierce as its director of human resources and compliance.
Pierce is responsible for overseeing the authority’s human resources program, implementing and updating personnel policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws. She served as the human resource director for Hotel State College & Company.
PA Treatment & Healing, an agency that guides people on the path to change appointed Devin T. Mathias as its president and CEO.
Mathias, of State College, is the third president of the 33-year old organization. He has 16 years of experience in nonprofit management and fundraising. He served as a consultant with Marts & Lundy, a leading nonprofit management, communications and fundraising firm and with schools like Stanford and John Hopkins.
David R. Williams, a certified golf course superintendent at Mountain View Country Club, completed the renewal process for maintaining his status with the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
A 31-year GCSAA member, he earned his certification in 1996. The association was among the first to institute a professional certification program, establishing its program in 1971.
