Centre County Commissioner Mark Higgins called out artistic residents of all ages in Centre County to participate in a logo designing contest promoting the soon-to-open Philipsburg Business Incubator.
The contest kicked off Tuesday with Higgins’ announcement, and will continue until the end of the month. The contest will be held in partnership with the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership.
“It’s common in larger cities to have business incubators,” Higgins said. “It’s also common to have design contests for a logo.”
The logo must be professional, he said, as it will be featured on letterhead or signage. The logo must promote the mission of the PBI, “to increase new business formation and support businesses in the Philipsburg area.”

There are no limitations on color, he said, but the logo should look good in black and white as well. Logos can’t contain copyrighted material.
The winner will receive a check for $250 from the county and “bragging rights,” he said. An entry form and rules for the contest can be found on the Centre County website at centrecountypa.gov.
