Spreading its dough a bit further, Bagel Crust will open a second location in State College later this year.

The eatery is targeting a late August open date, owner Al Rusinq said. The 2,300-square-foot new site, formerly an Omega Bank, will be located at 460 Westerly Parkway in Westerly Parkway Plaza.

Bagel Crust currently has a location at 332 E. Calder Way in State College.

“We get so busy over the weekends,” Rusinq said. “By opening a second location, we will be able to help the (downtown) location.”

Rusinq said the business leased the new location about three months ago. He said more parking besides the proximity to the Welch Pool and State College Area High School made the site attractive.

During the summer, the Calder Way location’s hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Its regular hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Rusinq said the new location might extend its hours to 7 p.m.

Besides bagels, the eatery offers omelets, sandwiches and other breakfast and lunch fare. Rusinq said the same menu from the Calder Way location will be available. Online ordering is offered through bagelcrust.com.
