Issac Dreibelbis can’t wait — his plan is coming together.

He had a vision for a showroom and store for his construction company, and it’s happening.

I’m always thinking about the next jump, the next step we should take.

Issac Dreibelbis

Dreibelbis Construction, which Dreibelbis started about seven years ago, will open a showroom and store in late January or early February in Lemont at 908 Pike St.. The space is about 1,800 square feet.

“We’ve actually manufactured cabinetry for six years, and this was a step in the right direction to market our products. This is also an opportunity to have a different venue for people to go to, to purchase improvements. Of course, we’ll do installation, too. It’s nice to get on the retail side of things now.”

Dreibelbis Construction will also sell items like tiling and flooring.

“I’m always thinking about the next jump, the next step we should take,” Dreibelbis said. “If you’re not trying to grow as a business in this day and age, you have start to do it to stay profitable. The focus for me is always on having a successful business in area.”

State has natural gas reserves

The U.S. Energy Information Administration released its annual report, which documented the wealth of natural resources in Pennsylvania for 2014.

Proved natural gas reserves for Pennsylvania increased 10.4 percent due to further development in the Marcellus Shale region. The EIA called it the largest natural gas field in the nation. Pennsylvania surpassed Texas for the first time and was the largest contributor to the national record-busting increase of proved reserves in 2014.

U.S. crude oil and proved reserves increased to 39.9 billion barrels — an increase of 3.4 billion barrels from 2013 and condensate have risen for six consecutive years. It surpassed the 39 billion barrel mark for the first time since 1972. Proved reserves of U.S. total natural gas increased 34.8 trillion cubic feet to 388.8 Tcf in 2014, a record-high level for the second consecutive year. Sustained low prices for oil and natural gas, which curtailed drilling and made recovery economics more challenging, are anticipated to reduce the reserves in EIA’s next report.

Low costs for eyeglasses

North Western PA Optical Clinic will run a program to provide new eyeglass prescriptions for low- to moderate-income families.

The cost will come at $40, and the clinic program will be run in Career Link’s Centre County office at 240 Match Factory Place in Bellefonte. The clinic will run from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

“We recognize most insurances pay for an eyeglass prescription, but usually not for your eyeglasses,” a release said.

People need to get an eyeglass prescription from an eye doctor, an appointment with NWPOC and meet relaxed income guidelines — $21,600 for one person, $29,140 for two and increases of $7,480 for additional family member in a household — for the program.

Frames are donated to NWPOC for the program, so they come at no cost. New glasses will be sent via mail in about two weeks.

Call 1-800-901-1912 for an appointment.
