A total eclipse of the moon happens when the moon falls into Earth’s shadow and the moon turns a deep, blood red.

This year, It happened in the early morning hours of Election Day. It is the last total lunar eclipse until 2025. According to the Wall Street Journal, it is the first time a lunar eclipse has fallen on Election Day — and it won’t happen again until Nov. 8, 2395.

That’s a mere 372 years from now.
