Man struck, killed while standing along I-80

A man was struck by a vehicle and killed along Interstate 80, according to police.

William Gillen, 53, of New Jersey, was said by police to have been standing by his parked car by mile marker 164 in Marion Township when he was struck by a 2011 Ford Focus, driven by James Oldham, of Wellsboro.

Oldham’s vehicle sustained severe damage, and Gillen was killed instantly.

The crash occurred at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday.
