Beam setting scheduled for Milesburg bridge project

The state Department of Transportation is continuing replacement work on the state Route 144 bridge in Milesburg, which spans the Jersey Shore Railroad tracks.

According to a release from PennDOT, drivers might encounter delays next week as beam setting is scheduled for Wednesday.

Flaggers will enforce an alternating traffic pattern.

There will be no work on Monday in observance of Memorial Day and the contractor will be working on the project’s Mechanically Stabilized Earth wall, the release said.

The new single-span bridge is expected to be complete in late October, according to the release.
