Former DA paralegal files appeal of dismissed federal suit

From CDT staff reports

Michelle Shutt, the former paralegal for Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller, is appealing her lawsuit.

Shutt’s federal defamation suit against her former boss was dismissed in May, although U.S. Judge Matthew Brann did leave the door open for her to refile the suit in state court.

On Wednesday, Shutt’s attorney, Kathleen Yurchak, filed a notice of appeal with the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. The case will be appealed to the Third Circuit, the same court Yurchak argued in front of last week in opposition of Parks Miller’s appeal of her own lawsuit against Centre County and a long list of other defendants, including Shutt.
