One taken to hospital in two-vehicle crash
One person was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash at about 5 p.m. Wednesday in College Township.
According to State College police, a sedan driven by Aly MacDonald, 22, of Mill Hall, was traveling east along the Benner Pike when she attempted to turn left onto Shiloh Road. Her vehicle collided with an SUV driven by Sharyn Angle, 32, of Bellefonte.
MacDonald stated that Angle had been driving fast and didn’t see her turn when Angle struck her, according to police. Angle reportedly told officers she had a steady green light and was traveling through the intersection when she was struck by MacDonald.
Multiple witnesses were interviewed, police said, who stated MacDonald had attempted to make a left turn from the right lane, turning into the path of Angle.
MacDonald complained of leg pain and was taken by EMS, police said. Angle said she would go to the hospital on her own. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Based on witness and driver accounts, police said, MacDonald was charged with an improper left turn, failure to use a sea tbelt and driving without a license. The eastbound lane was closed for less than an hour.
