2-vehicle crash disables SUV, motorcycle in Howard Township
Two people were transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred at about 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Howard Divide and North Eagle Valley roads.
A motorcycle was traveling north on North Eagle Valley Road when a white SUV pulled out in front of it, said Tim Flick, Howard Fire Company captain.
The motorcycle was driven by Jared Mitchell, 46, of Clarence, and he was wearing a helmet, according to a report from state police at Rockview.
Flick said the front end of the motorcycle was “smashed in.”
Mitchell was taken by ambulance to Mount Nittany Medical Center for minor injuries, Flick said.
The SUV sustained “disabling” passenger side damage, police said.
There were two passengers in the SUV. The driver, Lisa Kowalczyk, 47, of Bellefonte, was taken to the hospital by ambulance with a possible injury, while the passenger, a 7-year-old girl, was not injured, police said.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Rich’s Towing, police said.
There was a little bit of debris on the road from the motorcycle, Flick said, which was mostly cleaned up by about 9:30 a.m.
